14 March, 11am-3pm
Time to get the wellies on and get stuck in to plant up the 420 saplings from the Woodland Trust. These are likely to be 30-40cms high – not that onerous to lift and lay! The hedge will extend from the school boundary fence straight across the Garden and then angled in front of the ‘shrubbery’ to run to the present gate access.
We envisage two openings:
- a pedestrian gate to allow access to the Garden, probably sited at that angled corner
- a larger vehicle gate opening, mid-way across the Garden, to allow contractors access to cut the grass (and for any other deliveries).
Refreshments will be on hand to sustain and revive ….
If coming, please remember to:
- wear appropriate (tough) footwear; the garden is somewhat boggy right now, so possibly boots rather than shoes ….
- bring gloves
- if you have, tools ie. spades and/or digging forks, so that we have enough for all Volunteers.
I hope you’ll be able to come and join us, we’re at the far end of Love Lane, and will be there from 11am to 3pm.
